Same reason why a lot of people don't use things like material design. People want their designs to look good and stand out from the crowd - not have the same cookie cutter site as everything else.

I was in an earthquake in DC in 2011 that, while lower on the Richter scale, felt way worse than the one that happened in LA today. I didn't even feel the one yesterday either.

Nope. When it comes to tumors, doctors always play 'better safe than sorry', but the treatments available for cancer are so detrimental that it's going to do way more harm than good to receive treatment for something that was

Cancer runs pretty deeply in my family, and I had read the same about breast cancer screenings years ago, re: false positives causing more harm than good, so it'd make sense to see the same trends for other cancers as well.

This is pretty awesome. Any time I open any article, the first thing I do is try to follow the trail of links/sources back to the primary sources and read that instead. If I can't find one, I don't trust the article.

It's a law there because upskirting is a huge problem. I think OP was referring to an LED indicator so the phone owner/user could tell if the camera is in use by an app though.

I'd wager that there's some small feature you don't know about which uses audio input and it's requesting permissions too early rather than it being something malicious. I wouldn't grant it either way though.
