I also have had really bad experiences with Makerbots after a few months of moderate daily use. But Makergear and a few others around the same price point have been pretty great so far. That said, my organization moved on from the consumer

In general, any opinions about where we are on the hype curve for machine learning (as a stand-alone concept separate from traditional statistical inference)? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hype_cycle

This is still pretty true for me today. I use Pandora for discovery, and Spotify for maintaining fixed playlists. Google play music actually works great for both of these functions, but the app is extremely unstable on my phone (Moto X runn

For what it's worth, GA Tech is an amazing school, but I do think they are far more known for their traditional graduate engineering programs (aero, mechanical, electrical, etc.) than CS.

I have a few hundred hours in E:D, but haven't played in the last few months. It's an amazing flight sim (I do have a full HOTAS setup) and runs like an absolute dream in VR, but the missions system and MMO aspects are very lackin

On a side note, do does it feel to anyone else like this area is a bit of a moving target? Granted this isn't uncommon for topics experiencing a lot of growth, but it's a bit troubling to me that there seems to be a lack of refere

For what it's worth: I've been doing gaming on my 2012 MBA using Steam's in-home streaming from my Desktop. It works really well for gaming casually on the couch, though it only works on my home LAN.

That's quite an investment, hopefully the decision was made with some input from the engineering teams that, I would imagine, be making use of the seats. I've seen procurements of this scale go both ways in that regard.

I have been looking at making the switch to another kind of laptop too (I'm still running a 2012 MBA as a personal machine, 2013 MBP at work, and a Win10 desktop for gaming). I've test driven a few, but still haven't committe

I've always thought that Mendel discovered genetics, but from a practical and experimental side. Darwin's work focused on longer timescales. But I don't know how accurate that summary would be.
