The DMA gives realtively broad interpretation power to the the EU commission, so they can potentially shut this down without new regulation required. It's obviously malicious compliance that hopefully isn't justifiable.

Is there any such open source table format for row based data? I've been dabbling with implementing a database, and adopting a format would be much easier.

Very interesting analysis. I'm fascinated with effect systems. In theory they have the potential to make code both simpler and more powerful, because many complex abstractions like generators, async/await, error propagation, injec

Another reason is hosted content that someone really wants gone from the internet. Of course the efficacy of attacking a service with lots of content is questionable, but the plan is to put on so much pressure that the service removes the c

Every time I tried to use event sourcing I have regretted it, outside of some narrow and focused use cases. In theory ES is brilliant and offers a lot of great functionality like replaying history to find bugs, going back to any arbitrary p

I'm not quite sure how this compares to Kafka and fluvio [1], a Kafka competitor also written in Rust? Is it more of a message queue like rabbitmq? [1] https://www.fluvio.io/

The rewrites mostly are for tools that run for a short amount of time and do lots of AST processing. Javscript is just inherently suboptimal for this. * The JIT needs to warm up * AST data structures can be implemented much more efficiently
