What's the difference between great work and good work? It seems you are trying very hard to be a contrarian ( Which funnily is a trait of older age )

How would one install or update an app if apple and services disappear?
16. 76.▲
    by the_common_man 3y ago

Agreed. There was a study that almost 100% of virus in computers is because of people installing programs in computers. Imo, all laptops must have an AppStore controlled by the laptop manufacturer. It should all become totally locked down.

    by the_common_man 3y ago

Same. I wish all laptops and all electronics gadgets are totally locked down and only cozintrollable by the manufacturer. Like Lenovo laptop, should only have apps from Lenovo store. I would also say we should have only one editor. I don&#x

25. 85.▲
    by the_common_man 4y ago

Cloudron and yunohost are distributions. They provide managed updates.
26. 86.▲
    by the_common_man 4y ago

Yunohost, Cloudron, Sandstorm, maybe even portainer are similar platforms. Highly recommend selfhosting
27. 87.▲
    by the_common_man 4y ago

Yeah, cloudron is a other distro for this use case.

I use Android and Linux. I selfhost my cloud services using cloudron to avoid the big g. I will be the first to admit that the end solution is substandard compared to apple but freedom has its price (and i am happy to fight the fight)
