vm-curator, a FOSS Rust TUI for Linux QEMU-KVM VMs, now supports full GPU pass-through in its v0.2.0 release for near-native GPU performance suitable for high end gaming and demanding GPU-centric workflows. This works for both NVIDIA and AM

No. I thought about that, but decided it would be too much of a hassle to maintain, plus it becomes legally problematic with non-FOSS, non-abandonware profiles (i.e. modern Windows and MacOS.) Instead, for many profiles, it provides a link

I think you’re referring to the ability to split a physical NVIDIA GPU into multiple virtual GPUs so that you can do full GPU pass-through with one card (without having to resort to hacks like disconnecting host sessions.) What vm-curator p

IOMMU pass-through is the next feature I'm working on, but I felt it was now time to release the V1. Currently, vm-curator supports: - VM creation with over 100 different OS profiles, built for KVM and emulation - 3D para-virtualizatio

Leveraging Claude Code in a Linux shell to do all sorts of stuff has been an amazing superpower for me, and I think for many others. Cowork is a promising next step to democratize this superpower for others. If Microsoft, in creating their

The death of IBM’s vision to own AI with Watson was never due to an inability to transition to the right tech. In fact, it was never about tech at all. As an entirely B2B company with a large revenue stream to defend, IBM was never going to

Looking at the Zig vs. Rust angle — an interesting takeaway from the article is that Zig makes it considerably easier to build statically allocated applications than Rust. For all of Rust’s talk about “safety”, assuming the above assertion

OP here. It's seamless whether you go the Omarchy route or CachyOS route. In fact, I have an RTX 4090 and have no issues whatsoever.

It's not. It's 100% tiling by default and functions the same way as Omarchy's spin. However, the developer did make a couple of setting app GUIs that are pop-up focused. I think the screenshots emphasize those, which makes it

Hyprland is delightful, and the exposure DHH is giving both to it, Arch, and Linux is great. Since Hyprland is composable and customizable by design, building out a functional workspace from scratch is an undertaking. On the other hand, the

My 5 year old Threadripper with 128GB RAM is still going strong. A 9950x would probably be faster (especially for single thread,) but moving to AM5 would be a massive downgrade on IO. Can't really see spending $10K now for a TRX50 or W

An airframe and its engines typically have a rated life of 20,000 cycles. This plane has about 3,500. With proper maintenance however, airframes and some of their components can be used indefinitely. Engines will need to be rebuilt over tim
