Wolfram talks about mobile automata.. This is where you calculate one cell at a time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_automaton and https://www.wolframscience.com/nks/p71--mobile-automata

the paper is at: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-024-63816-z Pretty amazing if it pans out.

There's also the concept that companies that succeed, succeed despite themselves. You have catch the wave; otherwise you do a lot of paddling.

Do you have any more information on the run-book concept?

Thanks for the reply. How would CAs vary the amount of compute? Don't you have to compute everything state-wise every iteration? Right now my understanding is that in neural cellular automata people replace the update rule with a DNN.

The titan missile museum in Tucson has a good poster illustrating this. Soviet rockets were less reliable but they had so many more of them that they had a 99.9% probability of reaching the target. The USA had/have less but they were

Indeed I agree it is an egregious claim.

CAs are interesting computational systems but it is really difficult to follow the multiway hypergraph rewriting idea and its connection to physics. It sounds reasonable but I am missing a few inductive steps along the way. That may be a

We know there are infinitely many solutions, it is just hard to find a specific configuration of parameters. The question is, do all those configurations generalize or not.

You must have a grandfathered plan because the ACA mandated access and equal reimbursement for mental health vs medical.

Can someone ELI5 this vs all of the other options? Say I have a $300k in RSUs and a handful of stocks and a 401k w/ fidelity. What does this do? Also is this similar to the etrade portfolio things?

NGS is the counter example here. We will also have single cell proteomics in the near future. Robots can do lots of things like vary the initial conditions across a spectrum of variables... something no grad student would want to do.
