Sadly, I'm pretty sure there's a limit to how much "damage" the internet can route around. :-(

IMHO, the long term implications of driverless cars are far bigger than just traffic optimization. The article mentions ZipCar, and services like a robotic ZipCar or robotic taxis are what will really revolutionize transportation. Right

This could also be part of Google looking for revenue sources beyond advertising. As other commenter have pointed out, if Google can make this work and smooth out the very non-trivial legislative and liability issues, there's an absol

That's possible, but green has been the color of the Android logo, mascot, etc. since very early on, so the switch to green in the UI makes logical sense from a branding perspective. Also, I think Samsung is the only Android phone maker sti

Actually, I would say that for the average user, a well done OpenID login is considerably less complex precisely because they don't need to make up another username/password to memorize or otherwise keep track of. You need look no further

Personally, I'd like the option of using another signup provider other than FaceBook.

That's the kind of sign up I really like. I hate having to make up yet another damn password, then record it somewhere because I know I'll forget it, etc. I much prefer to use just authorize you through Google Sign-in, FaceBook Connect, e

You don't think the power company is actually paying for a full $30-$40 a month 3G data plan do you? This is actually pretty standard for these kind of cellular data collection systems. The company negotiates a ridiculously monthly rate for

According to the article, it will shortly be rolling out to all other 2.3 phones. The Nexus S is getting it first, but not exclusively.

Different use cases for different people. I'd love to have video chat on my phone for when I travel for work. It'd be great to video chat with my kids while I'm away. We could do that with our laptop, but that'd require me to be in my ho

The closest equivalent to IB in Android is actually built into the standard Android dev toolset (the Android Developer Tools for Eclipse). Droid Draw has been abandoned for years. The visual UI tools in the latest releases of the ADT is ac

If your friends are teaching you to use advanced task killer, they're teaching you wrong. That shit is snake oil. See these links for more info: http://geekfor.me/faq/you-shouldnt-be-using-a-task-killer-wi... http://android-developers.

Actually, I'd say community management needs to be a top priority for any business product, it's just that for open source the community is a bit broader.

You're kidding right? I've never seen a major enterprise yet that didn't use one of those brands of firewalls. Maybe Pix's and Palo Alto's are common for bootstrapped startups, but they're ubiquitous in big business networks.

That's a good point. There certainly were/are other projects that could have fit into the same nitch Linux ended up filling. But what are the alternatives to RepRap? Makerbot maybe? Any others?

IMHO, you're missing the point. The RepRap project might not be economically interesting, but it might put technologies and capabilities into the hands of companies and entrepreneurs who will do economically (and socially, culturally, et

If the App store approval process didn't catch a friggin tethering app disguised as a flashlight app, it seems highly unlikely it's gonna be any barrier to malware.

I'll agree that 'Like' is more natural than +1, but 'Tweet'?!? Not only does 'Tweet' not have the natural connotation of 'Like' or '+1', but it sounds positively dorky to say. But of course 'Tweeting' is incredibly popular, which I guess

So far, the killer advantage for Dropbox is it's simplicity. Just drop your files in your Dropbox folder on one computer, and they magically appear on all your other devices. There's no upload/download bullshit, it all happens in the backg

Why would you want to remove a key on the management server? Why have all keys copied to all servers? You say ssh-copy-id doesn't suite what you want, but you could easily create a much shorter script that just loops over the list of serve

Are you really generating a separate keypair for each server? Why? Why not generate one key pair on your management host, and then use the standard "ssh-copy-id" command to push the public key out to each managed server?

I'm also unclear what the problem is with slide to unlock. Some kind of unlock has always been necessary on any kind of non-flip phone. It's certainly less awkward than the button press combo's that were necessary on the old feature phones

If I'm understanding your results correct, Chomp came in last behind both app stores and AppBrain? That doesn't bode well for their success!
