I like Vue a lot, but then I discovered Blazor (.NET core + SignalR). And now I am questioning the whole Javascript ecosystem. With stacks like Vue and Node I always feel I have to do the same work twice. Double models, validation in the fr

Yep, it is absolutely non news. And you could even call Apple's prices competitive. Try a high end Dell with 3TB of RAM: way above $110,000 And if the screen is comparible to reference screens from Sony you can call the screen extremel

Could be. But I think the lack of Nvidia support won't help Apple at the moment. But I think they have something with their 'cheap' reference monitor.

The lanscape can change a lot in 6 years time. And Apple just lagged begind. For example, Nvidia came with super fast GPUs but it was almost impossible to upgrade your Mac Pro with them. So a lot of companies jumped to Windows. Also the sof

I believe the main market will be audio processing. Video, effects, CAD, 3D are mostly done on Windows and Linux.

But with Dell you get professional support. No need to get to a support center. They will fix it next day at your location.

I think this is very bad advice. I had great clients who overlooked a payment. Just let them know and everything was fine. It also depends on what country you live in. Where I live it is 60 days by rule unless it is in a contract signed by

The thing that most forget: it is impossible to estimate. So don't do it. Charge by period and keep communication to the client what you did in that time. Give them confidence that you provide them company value for the time they pay y

The most important part of the article: "While the paper is based on patterns and trends and, as such, doesn't confirm a direct cause, ..." Please be carefull jumping into conclusions. Further research is needed for that.

I think the main benefit of Blazor (server side) is that it's very easy to write SPAs with it. This is great for incompany apps that don't have a lot of traffic (Blazor can be difficult to scale). You bind your backend to your fro

I use DDG as my main search engine because I like more privacy. But to be fair I think Google is way better most of the time. And I believe this is because Google is much more context aware. A fake example: if you search "lounge new yo

I use Gimp a lot but I still think Photoshop is way ahead. For example I don't know why the author thinks Gimp has tight typography controls. I always struggle with typography in Gimp while in Photoshop it's so easy. And I never u

There are already frameworks doing this. For example Blazor (.Net core 3) and Phoenix Live View (Elixir). They write the Javascript for you but you won't even notice it. I don't have experience with Phoenix, but with Blazor I just

Imho this is a useless safety 'feature'. It only saves you from a mitm-attack and even then you hope that the mitm did not see your refresh token. The moment you store data with Javascript it will be visible for any Javascript.

Yes, but when the server does not send the token as cookie the only option is to store it with JavaScript. And yes, that also means (any) JavaScript can access the token.

I'm also having a hard time swiping the text. So ahead of the poster: 1. learn how to communicate: being a good developer requires as much (more?) social as it does technical skills. I would recommend formal training and practice. 2. q

There is a lot of talk about renewable energy. But I believe this is distracting us from the real issue: we are using too many resourses. Our family uses around 2000kWh electricity per year. This is half of what most people in my country us

This week it occurred to me that what is going on in Hongkong is the same as the story of Half-Life 2. This was what I always liked about HL2. It is a game but also a kind of protest against oppression.
