It’s a bit more messy than that in California even. Non competes are not forbidden, just generally unenforceable due to some other labor laws. So a lot of companies will still to this day have employees sign non-competes, and threaten the

I’d toss an asterisk onto #5 1 on 1s can vary a lot from person to person. I absolutely love my manager, but we’ve never had a 1 on 1 where she spelled out how I’m tracking towards goals. That’d be wayyyyy too formal for the nature of our

I would prefer a generic message and a promise for follow up once all the facts are known over a rushed response that may be incorrect. I’m an engineering manager in an infrastructure team (not at all affiliated with Digital Ocean, tho full

That’d be unrealistic for any company to claim, and if any company I worked with did claim that I would run for the hills. That’s akin to saying “we’ll never ship a bug”, or “we have an SLO of 100%”. That’s impossible for anyone to claim. S

Buying competition = removing competition Removing competition is literally the most anticompetitive thing you can do. Like definitionally. That’s why all major (edit: US) acquisitions take months to years to get approval from the SEC.

I’m a bit nervous about the movie, unless they pull a Deathly Hallows and split it into two films. The audio book is 32 hours long. That’s a lot to pack into a ~2 hour movie. But that’s a pretty big risk to do with a single novel. Harry
