The role of sweat appears to be to make the keratin in the finger softer and allowing more of it to contact the hard surface. This is unnecessary when contacting a rubber surface since the rubber surface is already soft. I.e. rubber makes t

It's possible that's only in the PC version. I don't see anything on Google about Securom on xbox, so this seems likely.

Off-topic: I thought that tracking email opening was no longer possible in gmail? My memory of it was that you'd insert an image and track whether that was retrieved, but that GMail started caching all images ahead of time for their us

The portrait with the tree and the sun in the background is a clear example. Whether the sun is shining through the leaves of the tree or not will overwhelm any inter-phone differences.

I don't understand your complaint at all. Phrasing the question differently doesn't deter people who are guessing, but it does deter people who don't understand what is being asked! People clearly (myself included) get conf

There's a related annoyance I've had for a while now: I grew up reading PC Gamer magazine and one of the great things about it was, for me, seeing the fancy new graphics coming out in large, glossy screenshots. Now, I read Rock Pa

It's true, I don't really know enough to tell how recent the phone is (I'm an Android user and don't even know that market very well). I do think people spend "more than they can afford" on their phones. Compar

I think you've missed the point that willun is making. It's in general impossible to assign a numeric "rank" to a partially ordered set such that the rank(A) > rank(B) iff A > B and rank(A) = rank(B) iff A is incom

You're correct, and on this particular example you can see the problem immediately: is France in the same "rank" as Korea or Italy? Neither, the question is ill-posed.

I disagree. I expect the median middle class American to have an iPhone X or other phone that costs within 15% of that. I ride the public transportation in a not-so-well-off area and new, high end phones are ubiquitous. I think the miscalcu

It's widely regarded today that McCarthyism was terrible even though people of that era believed - not unreasonably - that there was a good chance that Communism would take over the US.

Only if they wanted it to be: stainless steel is not significantly ferromagnetic. My guess is they don't want it to be magnetic but I can't think of a good reason other than "that's not what phones are like".
