Thanks, that's encouraging! I was worried they might not last that long, especially at low temperatures. I am using a Sonoff RF Bridge[0] to talk to 433MHz sensors. It is also supported by Tasmota[1]. [0] https://www.itead.c

What kind of 433MHz temperature+humidity sensors are you using? What kind of battery life do you get from them in the freezer?

Just wanted to add that Tasmota[0] (one of the open source firmwares for ESP8266 controllers) seems to already support MH-Z19 sensors. This cuts down on the work if all you want is to measure your CO2 level: you can get a $3 Wemos and a sen

The one major thing I like about Vue is that I can use it to build widgets in an otherwise serverside app without having a JavaScript build step. All I do is link Vue directly and server-side include files containing the template and code f

Thanks, this used to be an issue at least Windows 8. I'm happily surprised if it's now as easy as downloading the ISO from Microsoft and reinstalling it on an OEM machine.

You are mixing two separate things. If the bulk of Bitcoin owners were to try to sell all at once, most wouldn't have anyone to sell to, and the price would go way down. This has nothing to do with exchanges (although at increased lo

Most PCs come without Windows installation media and instead rely on a restore partition (keylogger included). If you try to install off random other media (e.g. MSDN), it will not recognize the OEM license that comes with the computer. Bec

Something like Sonoff-Tasmota (and many other similar projects) provides MQTT support, which works nicely with pretty much any IoT setup. https://github.com/arendst/Sonoff-Tasmota

The Sonoff S22 is a good candidate for reprogramming, with the bonus option that it supports external temperature+humidity sensors. You can definitely achieve the same functionality cheaper with a ESP8266 breakout + shield, but this way you

A laptop doesn't have to be uncomfortable. With a portable stand + keyboard/mouse, and given a good chair and desk (flex desk, library, definitely not cafe stool), it feels very comfortable for long work sessions.

Just one opposing data point -- I frequently switch between a 13" MBP running at 1920×1200 and a 13" MBA running at 1440×900 and I can't really feel a difference, let alone feel it's a nightmare. I wouldn't enjoy sq

As far as I know, OpenBSD is supported[1] on Ubiquiti EdgeRouters[2]. Depending on what you need, a readily available appliance at a reasonable price (~$100) might even be better than just a SBC. [1] https://www.openbsd.org/
