When I moved to Boston, the first lesson I learned was any gap in front of me that can fit a car will soon have one there. I think it is big cities in general not just regions.

Cars use CAN for most controller networks. It can go up to 1 Mbps but lots of time maybe 250 kbps. It has advantage of being broadcast so all devices get messages at same time. The wiring tends to have noise reduction properties and float

#1 probably. #2 no. AWS is not responsible for how you setup your resources. They are very clear about that unless you use proserve or something. They are not your IT dept even for managed services.

Look at housing in the US. Every home owner gate keeps and many rent seek. It is expected that value does not go down and actually increases faster than inflation. That is rational per person but net detrimental and a significant part of

Not every database has customer secrets in it. But you are not wrong that it should at least be understood what is sensitive before cloning.

I think this is more like adding lines to /etc/profile.d or .bashrc than adding a service. Linux has a pretty complicated flow if you want to know what runs on login or on startup.

Could not see if it supported SSH Certificates but see no references to them. I'm using those to make it easier to avoid authorized_keys file updates but seems like its not popular.

I guess Stanford is not an elite university then either. If he went to state or community college i might care more but his argument is not in good faith anyway.

My intro to Physics prof did this. First exam, average was like 35%. I was in top 3 at like 70%. He got into trouble because he also said no grading on curve and most of class complained to his dept head.

True of nearly all ORMs really. LINQ on objects basically makes C# a very nice functional language. Dapper is arguably better for database but then use LINQ in those results is very nice.

I frequently do mTLS with a reverse proxy (httpd, nginx, caddy, ...). Not perfect but you can tighten the connection security a lot without touching the other service. But by outsourcing it you lose some control.

My company has this. It encrypts any file touched on USB. And other software logs every app run. Prevents casual copying but easily circumvented. But somewhere logs may have enough info to trace the source of leak I guess.
