Point is that we can't really rely on these tools at all, especially because there are already false positives and any rate of false positives makes the tools essentially worthless.

You'd only need to use glass for the last mile of the process for many items. Ship the bulk items in big metal containers and then switch to bottling at the stores.

It's good to know that modern practices are having wide reaching contamination. The sources of ingestion may not be from where you expected and may indicate that other more harmful things are being ingested as well.

Life really starts to struggle above 100 C. I think the most heat tolerant organisms we know of top out around 130 C. Life that could operate at 500 C is probably not water based at all, which would be very novel and certainly interesting t

Most content creators already aren't paid well. Value accrues to the publishers and the publishers today have massive control over distribution channels. We're demanding a better solution.

That's not how it works. Supply is fixed, regardless of how much mining happens. The difficulty to mine a coin adjusts as miners come online and go offline.

Why don't people rail like this against the aluminum industry? It's just as wasteful. Bitcoin provides substantial utility and value to society, the energy to secure bitcoin is a cost just the same as the energy to smelt aluminum.

A signature basically says 'someone qualified authorizes this to be valid'. In the case of a block, the signature happens to prove the authority/qualification without needing to be connected to a specific identity.
