Webpass ( http://www.webpass.net/ ), the other wireless ISP in the bay area, has been amazing. They only serve high-density residential buildings though, not individuals.

The official policy is probably to have buyers destroy counterfeit products to prevent their circulation (possibly at the request of manufacturers?), and that's the reason this happened.

Yeah, that crossed my mind actually. That would be pretty interesting. Anecdotally I can say of the first batch, they went 3, 10, 9... (don't know the rest, they went fast).

I went to CMU with the author; in fact we worked together on one of the semester projects he mentions. There's no doubt that CMU prepares students for the corporate world. In fact some programs are expressly tuned for this. But this is exac

It's because everything in an airliner is heavily regulated by the FAA. Everything has to be rigorously tested and certified. This just increases the development cycle length. Compare to car nav systems, which also lag behind. Then add the

Do they normalize for the strong possibility that in general, guys check in more than girls? I'm assuming this is the case. Or for that guys are more likely to want to check in and advertise that they're at a bar rather than a beauty shop,

It's because they need to keep a process running all the time to poll the queue for new jobs. So basically, they keep an instance of your app booted at all times for job processing (if I understand how DJ workers work). And that's pretty mu
