Bezos has the same canny business sense as Jobs. He made a lot of long incremental bets. This guy now runs a book store, a compute cloud and a tablet company.

The video should talk about the results rather than the process. Imagine if I wanted to set up a deal site, would you tell me how to set it up as an introductory video, or do the feature tour? For example, you have a tab where people can cu

yes, the person can sue you. But if you can demonstrate that you have already been practising it before their patent lodgement date, then this is known as "prior art". However, it will still cost you money to defend yourself in court.

Having lived there for a couple of years, I'd say the problem in Singapore is a having a muzzled press. However, this is balanced by Singapore having relatively clean politicians.

I wouldn't worry about spamming as long as the team admin couldn't modify the outgoing email message. Furthermore, you can add in rate limiting, or limit the number of unactivated users a team admin can have.

Incidentally, I went over to Myer's in Australia to have a look at the Mac line up. Someone in their wisdom has decided that every iMac, MBP and Air needs to play Justin Bieber's music video at the loudest volume. Looped. This is how Apple

The reason the button is there is for ease of discoverability. Actually I watched the MS tablet demo with the same horror that I don't think my dad will be able to operate this.

even resellers have nice standard apple desks to present Apple products. The iPads have range of demo applications pre-installed to showcase what it is capable of. Meanwhile, Honeycomb tablets just feel like a chunk of metal.

I went to the shops to have a look at the various non Apple slates. All of them were badly presented. The applications were dull, the email client wouldn't start because it needed an account, the marketplace was blocked because you have to

I'm still very interested in these fraud cases. The main reason being that one person has effectively social engineered/hacked their way past bank internal controls. Imagine if UBS had inadvertently hired a crew of Anonymous, they would be

A fraud, electronic or not, is a hack on a system. It gets interesting when the monetary costs are so high and quantifiable. Perhaps someone who knows how investment banks work could tell us how they do threat modelling against fraud. Wha

What they say is true, but there will be no further investment in Silverlight. All technologies eventually hit this stage where there is no further investment slated. e.g. DOS. If your app is built on this particular platform, consider that

The comparison isn't valid. I can compile "hello.c" and run it on multiple platforms. But will it work with existing production code? There are Silverlight specific libraries, for example.

This is not necessarily true though. You might be better off writing code than figuring out how to use somebody else's half written library. Productivity should strictly be number of hours between problem and solution.

There are two ways to read this. 1. Google is getting overconfident that it can out-execute HTML+JS developers and get traction. 2. Google is still in a startup mode, dabbling with new ideas.
