Not familiar enough with the person's history to know if they did bad things, or if they were uncooperative, or simply ran a website and became a scapegoat. Anyone got insight into this?

I mean Russia claims they have battle dolphins. Might as well.

Oof. I'm a suckered for the cyberpunk aesthetic. However, these examples need some work. They're alright but the fonts, the font weights, spacing, layouts, everything feels like it could be tidied up a little. I also think the sty

My experience in a super toxic setup was when the ceo had one product in mind, and then task 3 teams with working on a version of the product, and said whichever best team will make one that works. You can imagine the politics that resulted

Didn't realize Lemmy uses ActivityPub too. Does it make sense to subscribe to a Lemmy thread in Mastodon? Or use it to DM a Lemmy user? Is there a concept of shared message inbox or such?

The page assumes that the reader knows what it's about. That I care about putting a swagger url, and get... something as the output. Tell me what's the goal, what's the value of the output.

I recommend you look at the market share for pc, and the overlap with casual gamer spend for the available casual games.
552.
by tetrisgm 3y ago
That's understood. That market is decreasing rapidly tear over year. In addition, casual gaming on PC is a very small market, and laptops aren't equipped to be good at mobile inputs. It's really unlikely that they will be abl

Some PM and VP probably looked for ways to increase the P&L. I've talked with many googlers, and they interviewed me for leadership positions related to gaming before. I do not like their approach. No gamer wants this. I'm not

For the longest time, I was wondering if thw stock market schemes, feeling followed, seeing things in patterns, was just paranoia and paraeidolia. Would be plausible within the story!

This is one of my favorite sci-fi short stories, period. Up there would be the one that inspired Arrival (I don't recall the name), and The Last Question. This one was great, because it's not clear until the very end whether the c

You can follow creators, they post content. It's a social creator platform. Is it the NSFW or the paywall aspect that's making you feel like it's not?

by tetrisgm 3y ago
Arguably, Tumblr did this by removing NSFW, and Onlyfans did this by pivoting to mainstream content

I just came back from Indiana Jones 5 (Dial of Destiny). It was ok. Whether you're excited for the new entry, or feel like the IP is dead, I feel you'd be interested in know there's been a proper 4th Indiana Jones for 30 year

For those who aren't aware, this was a government backed mini internet. Most government agencies had services on it, which were in use until ~2001. You'd check how you did in your French version of the SAT, your school enrolment,

I was hoping for a thread with a UX deep dive on the pros/cons of a simple UI vs other equivalents (Reddit, Reddit Enhancement Suite, social networks, RSS readers). There's no way to say this is a perfect UI. We don't know if

What exactly do you think the Venn diagram of: users who are annoyed with the API change + users who are willing to put up with Usenet? Look at migrations to Mastodon and Matrix. It's still niche. It's great for that niche, but it

I've lost 120lbs. I'm a PM so I A/B tested different methods to lose weight until I found one. Exercise did almost nothing. It helped start my metabolism here and there. The real weight loss came from just eating as close to

Oh yeah, let's drop Google's design language that they enforce in every app, and instead use a bespoke system. That would be suboptimal in terms of ensuring users feel familiarity, even if this was a good design. The suggested alt

This reinforces a cheeky theory I have, that AI is basically an alien intelligence that doesn't quite know what humans are and what they do, but it tries to remember and describe roughly what it saw. So you're getting these handwa
