I'm just worried about OTA updates. Shelly and Sonoff are playing nice now. They might not always. Plus, unless you fence off your wifi device from the router, it might be phoning home on you. At least a module without a WiFi stack can

Just use ZigBee or Z-wave devices and then use a bridge to connect to HA. Anything else is just WiFi and vendor lockdown

I often glance at peoples phones on the train, hoping to see anyone just browsing the same sites as me. No one: never seen a fellow HNer, blueskyer, mastoner, lemmyer

Thank you -- all these weird close up shots accentuating the curves, but no idea what it looks like just sitting on a table.

AI investment bottoms out, and it turns out that running a small 512 MB model on your phone is enough for most people. The moat keeps drying up every time its flooded, and people are quite happy splashing around in blowup paddling pools

The ESP32 is an amazing piece of tech. Wifi, bluetooth, camera, a full blown webserver on a single chip. Incredible times we're living in. I'm using mine as an open source doorbell camera (albeit with many kinks)

The scars we inflict on our planet for the sake of pragmatism I can somewhat live with. It's for the sake of vanity that makes me sick.

I'm guessing it's for the use case where you "adb shell" into the phone, and want to ssh elsewhere (where dynamically-linked Termux binaries would not work).... Edit: .. though, one could always just start an ssh server

This looks good.... but I don't get the importance of it. What can this do that termux openssh can't? Can I mount remote filesystems at the system level via sshfs?

I'd say: Don't pick up the technical debt unless you have time to. If you do, make a song and dance about it, because otherwise no one will care.

Also, doesn't the chemical merely mutate the existing DNA, so that a phlogeny based on sequence composition would yield high consensus for existing organisms (albeit with way higher than base rate variants)?
