This is anecdata of one but not including service staff (student union etc.) we're looking at hiring. Enrollment is still high, and there's still the endowment as backstop. And in my particular niche, I still see job openings - th

As a legal immigrant, I can assure you, it's not open door. It's difficult, expensive, long and Kafkaesque. You really really shouldn't describe an experience you clearly don't understand.

I don't disagree with that statement, but rb808 specifically cited "well educated parents".

How would someone be well educated at a bad school? I feel like that loses any reasonable definition of good.

I agree as a generalization, but that does presume that the syllabus itself doesn't need rote interpretation. “No, we haven’t learned about some of the vectors yet, so for the sake of the problem, we just take this one out,” Man

Isn't that just a matter of chicken and the egg timing tautology? The parents are well educated presumably because they went to good schools.

"Gun" is just a way of describing someone who's good at something. Australian slang.

I think this is a clash of use of American-isms. Soda (stand-alone) is sugared soft drink. Soda Water, is usually carbonated water (sugar free, sometimes flavored)

While as a developer I find this super interesting, as a system administrator this makes me cringe. We don't have a lot of resources for servers, and I end up spending a disproportionate amount of time banning IPs from bots running poo

Eh, it's not just mugged, although I suppose that's part of it. More just punching/stabbing attempts, they're either high, drunk, or mad about the fare etc. In the front you're not going to get blindsided.

Left unsaid is that guys are expected to ride in front, women in back. Guys less likely to cause violence in front, women less likely to receive/accuse anything untoward in back. Sitting next to someone is more conducive to having a ch

It's espresso, not expresso. Capsule is far more expensive over the it's lifetime than something like a Gaggia Classic. Capsules aren't anywhere near the quality of coffee shops, unless you're counting Dunkin.
