The officials deciding about your status most probably couldn't care less. This is not an opinion but my experience (I tried exactly that line tough in a different country)

I agree with your take on the situation ;) Thing is that a lawyer might be throwing good money after bad, it's just ~3k and who knows, maybe the fiat claims (~50% of the 3k) are worth something (though I doubt it).

OK, I gotta correct myself: Fiat is not valueless (what I wrote) but it has no intrinsic value (what I meant). Just like BTC.

And then there is fiat money, the elephant in the room of valueless things.

The lesson is: If you don't understand anything about something but need to opine, put the words "lesson" and "engineer" in the head to fake your understanding.

You guys have any idea on how to proceed if you (allegedly) have a few BTC and USD there? Yeah yeah I know, I read HN often but obviously I missed the "Stay away from Gox" posts :(

I loved the series, I remember in X-Wing there was a complete campaign where you start with hit'n'run tactics against some containers (!) and end in an ambush and the first kill of an ISD. This storyline made you feel hopelessly o

Doesn't that imply a certain equivalence between the two terms or is this a notation I am not aware of? And if it is the former, am I contributing to your security for not posting the simplified version? :)

Re the prior comments, I based my view on the instances in Germany. The products are usually good and prices really low. Especially the chocolate clones of some brands are some 30% of the price and 90% of the taste. Then again, I saw just r

The BS part was meant w.r.t. the theories because, unlike theirs, your opinion is not forced upon the people, so sorry if I left room for the misunderstanding. I disagree in particular to the "to serve debt you have to create more"

Post-scarcity economics sounds to me like post-human anthropology or post-matter physics, i.e. economics is by definition science on "managing" scarcity. No scarcity, no trade, no economics. Honestly, capitalism would be a good sy

I'd argue that "having a different code" does not at all entail any illegal action. People often have very different opinions (for example tax laws), yet they comply with the given law. But then again, taken out of context (t

True. The problem for all of us could be that people often forget that "An idea is not responsible for the people that believe in it" (some "Don Marquis" said that)

Frankly, my moral and ethical code is quite different to what is legal. "State money transmission laws" belong to a set of legal rules that I don't care about as long as nobody gets harmed (physically or w.r.t. his property).
