You may want to email HN (see https://news.ycombinator.com/newsfaq.html ) as it seems you're shadow banned.

I debated even including the disclaimer. It's been ages since it was shut down, and it's been 13 years since I was even there. However, I didn't want to violate some HN netiquette by not being transparent.

I've been using Qobuz (along with my own Navidrome instance) for the past year. The depth of music in some genres seems pretty good, and seems to have all the mainstream artists, but once you get past them in indie/pop/rock g

Reporter of #15526 here. I've still only ever seen this corruption in files being built, which seems to be a situation that the race can be won repeatably by some packages. I reviewed all my user data and I've found no corruption

Something seems unusual about your system. Are you using an unusual profile or heavily customized make.conf? net-libs/nodejs-20.5.1 is satisfied with dev-libs/openssl-3.0.10 out of the box here. I have a fully updated world with a

I use Gentoo on a few machines, and I'm confused by what GP says: I have no problems using OpenSSL 3, and the 1.1 releases have been masked (not installable by default) for a while now.

Not GP, but I tried it out a few weeks ago. I experienced it working for about 15-20 minutes, then it stopped doing any I/O to the disks until I rebooted. After it happened a few times in one evening, I switched to something else.

Backblaze has a policy of allowing backups of external disks, but the disks have to be connected at least once every 30 days, or they'll delete the backups. I understand they want to avoid abuse, but the lack of any grace period, or ab

I only noticed that after writing the comment. Still feels wrong to advertise one price, then sneak in "total fees" (whatever those are) in between the checkout flow and the payment processor page.

I was buying tickets for an upcoming music concert here in Amsterdam. The map showing prices in different sections was one price, but they wanted €74 extra in "total fees", and an additional €14 in VAT.

I watch a channel that has hundreds of videos playing a city builder, with playlists for each city they've streamed. I just looked and they're all oldest to newest, but yeah, I guess its up to the creator. The frustrating bit if t

It's one reason why I love channels that take the time to make meaningful playlists: they're in whatever order the channel decides, which is often oldest-first in the context of a regular series.
