That's basically the same as torrents with magnet links. As other commenters pointed out, the biggest real difference is that IPFS objects can cross-reference each other by hash, which allows you to do partial updates.

IMHO, there is effectively no moral or ethical difference between cracking the DRM on a book you've purchased and downloading a copy of the same book from Library Genesis. And the latter is usually more convenient, in my experience.

The earth's radius is about 6.4x10^6 meters, so 100,000 times smaller is about the size of a football field.

I skimmed through some of the court documents at the time, and from what I recall, it wasn't a question of which group was more "deserving of protection". It came down to a legal argument about the specific elements of the ch

"Orbital north", a.k.a. the north ecliptic pole, isn't really something that makes sense to plot on a map. It's a three-dimensional vector that points in the direction of the northern constellation Draco. So when viewed

Sure. I haven't seen the actual legal complaint, so I don't know if it's just a publicity stunt, or if they actually have evidence that Musk is planning to not pay out the extra wages that he's (presumably) required to.

As the first paragraph of that article points out, advance notice is required by federal law, if the company is sufficiently large and if sufficiently many people are being laid off at the same time. At-will employment is not relevant. h

I've never heard the term "solar north" used that way before. It seems like you're defining it as 90 degrees left of the point of sunrise, but that seems arbitrary -- why not define it as 90 degrees to the right of sunse

If that's the issue, it's (at most) a trademark violation instead of a copyright violation, which means the DMCA complaint was filed under false premises.

Montana is the biggest exception. It's only at-will for a 6-month probationary period, and after that, you can generally only be fired for "good cause".

I don't know of any evidence that the Internet as a whole suffered outages due to 9/11, but I can certainly believe that individual web sites and/or ISPs would have struggled. Maybe your ISP didn't have a fast enough bac

I don't really understand why that means the Odroid-H3 is a "tough sell", though. It's quite a bit cheaper than both of the boards mentioned in that review, even after you add a case and power supply.

1:1 scale multiplayer world maps have existed for decades, e.g. in Microsoft Flight Simulator. The difficulty of making a "large" map comes from what you want to simulate and in how much detail, not from how big it is per se.
