"I'll just get it from somewhere else" means you do need it. This isn't complicated logic. You don't have enough yourself. The fact that you hope you could get it from a brutal dictatorship instead of a democratic

Agreed that "Canada is taxing you back" doesn't make sense. But "America is taxing Canada" makes even less sense. Sorry, just no. America is taxing Americans, Canada is taxing Canadians, these taxes harm exports and

Hopefully the same pushback that has so far stopped the worst of chat control would help. But even if not having more western alternatives would be very welcome. If you're in the US it may not resonate with you, but as a Canadian curre

One of the amazing things about this project is that the author built physical harnesses for real early CPUs so that he could build test suites against the real hardware and ensure the emulation is 100% correct, down to every timing and qui

Given how poorly everything is going for the US thanks to these tariffs that certainly is a take. Brace yourself though, it's going to get worse!

I think there should be more of it. Negatives for the Apple News model is that it's Apple only and there is no ad-free tier. It's also app locked so you can't use ad-blockers. But yes, something like Apple News with an ad-fre

Apple news manages to give access to a variety of mainstream sources for a fixed price. Unfortunately there is no way to block the ads and without an ad-free tier it's a no go for me.

Outside of Musk companies? All the time? Google workspace doesn't train on your email. Gmail does. Any b2b targeted services absolutely protects customer IP. It's one of the most basic requirements.

Having done that, e.g. used rabbitmq plus postgres, honestly I wish I had just used postgresql for both messages and data. It would have been easier to manage by an order of magnitude, especially at scale and needing to satisfy enterprise
