It is very much the role of the government to watch monopolies and act if necessary. Even if that means passing arbitrary restrictions on their business practices. Surely not all conceivable restrictions would be good, but some (like GDPR)

There are always reasons that companies want to keep their monopolies. But the fact that "Apple Experience" is something important to Apple should not be the end of discussion. The negative aspects should be evaluated as well.

Genuinely puzzled the lady wasn't immediately silenced by others or management of this place. It must have been clear this is disruptive?

Interesting statement. I'm not super convinced by their arguments, but one cannot be sure the newspaper reporting is accurate and unbiased either. Strange how the statement feels chaotic and even unprofessional at times. They should ge

To be fair public company valuations are not that different. Sure, the price discovery is more efficient, but still if you were to sell any significant part of the stock it would lower the value of the company.

Interesting article, but I think it is missing a solid comparison of such "overlay SQL" with more traditional database engine. It isn't enough to show something can be done. One must also think if it should be done.

Once again the IC cars manufacturers underperform. This is non-production car and very late to the party. Meanwhile Tesla Roadster, an EV car, is doing cool 4513 mph - or 15 times faster, with insane fuel economy of ~0.03 l/100km. Sour

There are industries where you have no expectation of privacy at work because all comms are required to be monitored and stored due to the law . So this new feature really enables them to serve these customers who operate under such laws.

My bet is they decided to respond due to PR issues. The response from the EU will likely depend to some degree on the public reception of Apple. The Spotify post looked very strong, so even if they don't fully dismantle it (as you noti

There is a lot of safety stuff with the current design of the airplanes. If this is just simpler or had fewer parts that can break, it may still be a win.

If the hashing algorithm is known (and my guess is it is at least possible to reverse engineer it, if it isn't documrnted) then cracking a hash with a GPU may be quite feasible.

Working with team with 1h time zone difference on a daily basis. Makes little difference. I guess 2h would be more noticeable but still fine. OTOH 6h difference is a real killer. You have very small window for real time communication. The f

Do they need a massive hit though? I for one appreciate the diversity that is available on Netflix. Surely they can match people's tastes better this way. Still I'm rooting for the Witcher to be a big hit.

A number of other countries have unique identifiers available for various purposes (people, companies etc. etc.) and somehow they work? So I'm not buying it that a single flawed implementation means all of these systems are flawed too.
