I didn’t suggest if it is happening in Utah it isn’t for religious reasons, but I don’t think criticism of porn is strictly a religious issue.

Ehh it's definitely not just the ultra religious conservatives who are raising issues with pornography. I see a lot more "health bro influencer"/Andrew Tate types warn against watching porn because they think it makes pe

Uh that’s not reassuring to people who don’t want to become a waiter. Blue collar jobs are generally safe, especially skilled ones, but lots of entry and mid-level “white collar” work is at risk.

Don't think that's the main reason the stock is down. Uber is barely down this past year but Lyft's stock has tanked like 70%. Lyft screwed up by not getting into delivery and people normalized using Uber for rideshare plus d

Uber's stock is flat YoY Lyft's stock is down like 70-80%. So you could argue Uber is actually on the path to achieving that vision and Lyft failed, not that neither should be "valued like a tech company".

I'm not sure what you mean by "even pre 2020". High comp did not just start with covid. This had been the case for many years before the pandemic.

The first VCs to go are the small third tier or solo VCs. And the ones caught up in the SPAC or crypto adjacent hype and used up their fund to buy the top of the 2020-2021 bubble in speculative nonsense.

What was more incredible was being accused of being a conspiracy theorist because I had commented in the SF subreddit and on twitter that I personally didn’t think it was random.

Ironically Austin’s housing market seems to have suffered the hardest since peak 2021-2022 prices because it’s more clear now that it isn’t becoming the next Silicon Valley.

SF does not have many violent crimes. It’s mostly car break ins. Regardless I’m waiting to hear if his wallet or phone was stolen. If it’s still on him I’m more suspicious this was just some random mugging gone wrong.

Can a once trendy tech company like Birds scooter (stock at 22 cents down -98%) really be considered to have the upper hand? I think if you're a FAANG employer that is considered "safe" definitely yes, but there's a pile

not sure what your point is. cash back cards aren't really interesting to me. you're better off not overspending on things that don't add to your quality of life than worrying about whether you're getting 1-3% cash back.

at this point getting a 0% loan for 2 years is more interesting than the difference between 1-2% cash back. i used to be really into optimizing cash back but it just ends up costing more mindshare than it is really worth.

getting 3% back on apple purchases plus 0% interest for 12-24 months is pretty nice. given theres no annual fee i don't really see the downside if you buy apple products.

I always hear people make the argument that cost savings is the biggest benefit of ditching a car and living in a city with good public transportation. Then I look at NYC and it's $5k to rent a 1 bedroom and everything as soon as you w

the main benefit is just that you don’t owe anything if you can’t find a job? well the ones suing are the ones who couldn’t find a job and not happy about it. simply not having to pay up is not much of a consolation.

the egg section looks completely different now than a few years ago. clearly there is a lot of new demand for $10/dozen organic pasture raised no corn or soy eggs. these are options that weren’t even available even a few years ago.
