Also, planting trees sequesters co2 into the biosphere. That is not good enough, we need to be sequestering co2 into the geosphere if we want to remove it from the equation

Too many big carbon emitters don't shut-down easily, and the cost to start them backup is likely higher (steel processing, container ships, power plants, etc)

Yeah it's the complete opposite of niche. It's the fundamental understanding of processes, signals, syscalls, memory that every modern computing system is based upon.

In this specific case I would sell at a lower multiple to someone in the niche community. The amount of money to be made by selling someone who wants to exploit the userbase isn't worth tarnishing my reputation and subsequently shooti

I have a niche iOS app that makes between $200-400 monthly. I would sell it to someone who would continue to grow it because I would rather build new things than continue to add content to the app.

I'm pretty sure we had covid in March 2020, and my wife has since then been extremely tired - like needs a 2 hour nap every afternoon and in bed by 8pm - and brain foggy. She's had concussions in the past, so I haven't been

I also don't drive a really big car, and I think it's stupid as well. So, now we're at two things I don't do because they're bad for the environment.

At least some of these CEOs fomented the wokeness and tried to utilize it until it became a liability. I worked at one of the companies mentioned in the article, and remember the CEO saying at town halls "there is no better company tha

I use React (well, Preact) every day. I use it 2014-style. Class-based components, componentWillMount, render, callbacks, and that's about it. I love this workflow, and generally structure all my UIs this way regardless of platform -

I've been thinking about this, and if that CO2 tax results in that less CO2, who feels the brunt of it? What does it look like to people? Is everything 20-50% more expensive, so we buy less of it? Would be great to see the CO2 reduc

Our PM also walks behind the US and reiterates whatever climate target they state, like X % by 2030 and y % by 2050. I have seen exactly 0 plan on how to get there. I suspect he'll retire in 2029.
