Maybe in Norway, but there absolutely is no pin check when making large purchases through at least Apple Card via Apple Pay. I made a $9800 US purchase a few months back and it was just face ID, which apparently can be fooled easily.

I don’t know much about Norway, but how would you transact during a natural disaster when power or network services are down for an extended period of time? Centralized digital payments fail here as well.

How about handling a large transaction without internet access? Say you want to transact in the middle of space. What now? Wait until you get back to some connection? As silly as it sounds, this system is not scalable.

They didn’t say that it was easier, but that it was easier than changing everything to run from electricity, which is true.

Prompts use text, period. We already have the technology to search text for child pornography, both google and duck duck go use this. there’s also negative prompting, which tells the model don’t do these things. hallucinations can still hap

Here we go with the metadata again. Viewing metadata means nothing as it can be easily changed by the user while retaining the actual data. Rename the file, change the creation date. Instead of naming the folder “classified military pics” y

As a T-Mobile customer, and not paid at all to endorse their services, I can assert that their adverts do not lie.

I mean you described it quite well and defended them. I raised an eyebrow and am still unsure even though you’ve said you weren’t one. It’s kinda like arguing that racism is a fact of life for some and we should allow them to vent their rac

How do you avoid compensating someone on salary while lobbying on their own time?

This comment doesn’t make a lot of sense, and with all the quotes it’s hard to tell if you mean it’s actually free or not. If they are not charging you for the TV service then why are you complaining about ads? Complain about paying for ads

This is not necessarily true for all businesses in all locals. For instance if you buy a car in CA, they charge sales tax based on your home address, so two people could in fact buy the same product at the same dealer and pay different pric

That $1.2 mil figure wasn’t any of those cities, nor was it from SF. You seem to be detached from reality. And btw, I spent a large portion of my life living out of a rack on a warship so don’t talk to me about compromise kiddo.

As someone else said in another post, unless you like touching your coworkers during meetings then a camera works just fine. And to jump onto one of your points, Linux is the big elephant in the room. Almost every company uses it yet there’

How does this reconcile with learning and the internet? Or books? The assumption that someone is using the addictive apps or services is the flaw in your argument. Same with bars, people can go to a bar not for the purpose of socializing at

The assumption it’s being taken out of context infers the readers of WSJ are incapable of understanding what it means. It’s yet again an insult.

Many people do not have the time to read papers, jobs and life get in the way, which is why we use newspapers. WSJ happens to be one of the least biased papers, with a slight right lean. Fires decreasing globally is not out of context here.
