Verizon doesn't do rollover minutes month to month though which is very annoying.

It hardly needs promoting with techies does it? I would buy one right off the shelf if they put it up for around 500$ and I suspect I'm not alone. The more interesting challenge is how to make wearing the glasses socially acceptable.

So what's the current average pay for someone that gets an offer using this auction? Any stats?

For me, after a threshold (which is what the iPhone display reaches), it doesn't really matter. The returns are exponentially diminishing after that point. Having 10% ppi more than the iPhone's will not make the display 10% better.

It's interesting, but I use https://bitbucket.org for any private repo that I need to share with other people and github for public code. I can't see anything additional that gitlab offers, maybe I'm wrong?

Yeah, I'm actually pleasantly surprised that there are no caveats on HN yet either. Will wait and watch I guess.

I was trying to build my own for an app I'm building and all I can say is it's pretty hard. Thanks for this!

Other than the cost of execution, how can you argue that more bandwidth is bad?

Fascinating. I wonder if this can be applied to sounds as well ? What makes it more interesting with sound is we can "time travel" so to speak, and sample across hundreds of years of music where as with imagery, you're just stuck with what

I just feel there needs to be a lot more work put into web intents ( http://webintents.org/ ) when I see stuff like this.

I have no idea how synthetic biology works, but have a couple of questions from the applications section in the link. They talk about designing vats of bacteria that extract gold from water. If this level of customization is possible, is it

Just curious. What's the reasoning behind this being a mobile app? Shouldn't this just primarily be a website ?

Yes, yes, I know the guidelines and I agree with you ofcourse. I'm not against discussing non CS / Startup related topics. I just felt that this particular topic isn't interesting enough for whole of HN to rank it at #1. I also realize the

I would say you're off slightly. I think it's basically improvising very frugally to make stuff work when it should've been close to impossible. It can be dangerous, It can hurt others, selfish or just plain useful, but there's no way you c

Well, that's just not true. India was unified all the way from Afghanistan to Andhra Pradesh for very long periods of time[1]. After the Mughal invasion, pretty much the entire North India was unified under the Mughals. The end of the mugha

That's usually not how it works. I can only tell from my experience on what happens in Inida, but you usually apply for a "consulting" company which is basically a front for a shop that takes 30-50% cut in the developer pay by sponsoring th

I wonder what the optimal time is to post to HN. Do people usually wake up, check HN and then go about their day? If so, around 9-10:30AM EST? Or maybe if most HNers come from the west coast, would it be 9 - 10:30AM PST?
