I suppose this is nice for adhoc queries in a repl, but I hope no one writes it in an application. Heck, I don’t even use “select *” in code

Maybe it would be better if the government gave everyone $XX/mo transit credit so the market forces remain intact. Obviously, the downside is it may no longer be free for everyone, but maybe it’s a good trade off to avoid complacency

Frankly, I’m still sifting through the arguments here and don’t think I agree with the OP off the bat, but that’s a false analogy. Google’s work is directly advertised for military use— Telegram isn’t. I don’t think anyone is arguing agains

Nope. And, FWIW, I'd bet Aurora has deviated far from core MySQL at this point, too.

Is there a comparison of Kata and gVisor based on how they act functionally rather than how they are implemented under-the-hood? Like the OP, I'm curious when you'd use this over Kata.

Wow! It'd be hilariously impressive if someone wrote something like an image tracer [0] that outputted CSS. Not useful at all (AFAICT) but would be a cool project. [0]: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_tracing

I find that type inference solves most of my woes of static types. At least, I've found myself reaching for Go to write quick scripts that I'd previously use Python or Node for before, especially when I need concurrency. Go doesn&

Likely depends on when you joined. The Series C investors had to get ~10% of the company for $35MM to get their money back so I doubt they did so well, but I bet it's a win for early investors, employees, and of course, the founders.

FWIW, AWS has a whitelist of Postgres extensions you can use in RDS so that'll probably take more time, if it ever happens.

Within a job ladder, you then have levels. They tend to map onto years of experience, *whether you have a degree or not*, what kind of degree it is, how well you do in your interviews, how much money you ask for or hint about, a

Share bikes have a huge potential for the environment and overall, commute efficiency. While there may be bad parts to start, I think there's plenty of great parts to come.

Also a cyclist, and I think one of the reasons share bikes haven't taken off as much in SF is the terrain. Bikes are a convenient way to get from place to place, but who wants to get sweaty and scared riding around SF hills?
