I think what anthropic did yesterday was good, but I had to take a step back and think, well it wasn’t a bridge too far for them to allow claude to be used in the wildly illegal maduro kidnapping operation.

You know what? I have not seen an American company take a stand like this… uh ever. I don’t think there should be any engagement with the military what so ever but I will offer a kudos to Anthropic. I don’t really expect this to last but if

Interesting article, but there's no rate of investigation success quoted. The engineering is interested, but it's hard to know if there was any point without some kind of measure of the usefulness.

The framing of this is that the United States conducts legitimate operations overseas, but that is extremely far from the truth. It treats China as a foreign adversary, which is nearly purely the framing from the U.S. side as an aggressor.

If DoD seizes the IP, the issue is they will need the cooperation of their scientists at least in the short term, if they want it to remain a fronter model. The labor angle isn't entirely guaranteed though the white collar worker has v

It's a "problem" in that it shows very clearly who runs the U.S. system. These are the people actually in charge without a meritocratic gloss to make it seem nicer.

I dunno, I don't think the models are fully capable yet, but they are still shockingly good, especially recently. A real parrot is worthy of some consideration, not zero, though some of that is attributable to the fact that it is alive
