This is significant. I have been pondering about how to build upon a gcal-style week view but with no sense of month navigation. Very similar to Continuous Calendar https://madebyevan.com/calendar

I stayed at a hotel that was having a power outage and they could not assign me a room because they couldn't tell which rooms were unoccupied. I guess the rooms themselves had some redundant power or was wired to a different grid. That

Sometimes I print out code docs and other software things to trick my brain into a different perspective. Being able to touch the information on an object in space is useful to me. Not buried next to other distractions on a computer. Helps

Thanks for the trip down memory lane… thinking about the long ethernet cable also jogged my memory of the problematic position wifi on laptops had with linux around that time. That and running a box fan under my Gateway laptop in order to m

I worked with a shop that wanted to use Rust for their shiny new MVP. And they did... and yes we were not really good at training nor could prioritize/attract rust-experienced devs. The Lead rust dev left due to personal reasons and th

One of the senior devs at a place I worked at built his own react-like component system using jQuery and they had a couple apps foundationally upon it. I also wound up on a project to help out with a pretty recent greenfield Angular SPA. Tu

I'm pretty hungry for this level of philosophy in software design, especially when I see us all too frequently just take a loose blog summary of a hot pattern and start building systems with it. I work with a company that tried to do D

I did an experiment where I lived for awhile with a sony recorder/mic on me 24/7. It was nice to be able to refer back to conversations and events when I wanted them. Biggest issue was sorting through the data-- timestamps and re

Still trying to get my mind around it... I can make python scripts with infinite potential but to invoke them I have to put them behind a CLI, webhook, cron, and then orchestrate the data into these python scripts. So this would be like the

Yeah I can't find anything on the site about that. Could be a killer app if it also had some Fail2Ban mechanism + auth gateway. Then I could host apps that may have questionably robust auth and feel a bit better about it exposed to t

I can imagine a generic smartphone app that has configurable UI and is designed to talk to serial devices over BLE. Add a BLE module to your IoT, send a json config to this app, and away you go!
