Fwiw, I 100% agree with this. All of a sudden the constant judging is there, it's seeping into the once clean, apolitical world-of-mind. It started on the big tech platforms, the new weary giants of flesh and steel, but it's overf

I for one am getting pretty sick of it. FOSS is by nature apolitical, pre-competitive and for me has always been an intellectual exercise. This is the only way it can power Chinese clouds, Azure, AWS and GCP, and the many EU sovereign syste

Exactly this. If you worry about these things, find another job. So much about MS Teams. Nothing about these toxic managers. If you think it’s normal to call in to have someone pretend you’re there because your manager can’t forgive you som

Well, it's mostly annoying if people store office docs on some samba share instead of in SharePoint/Teams. Also Teams has issues on Firefox, and sometimes also in Chromium. But overall works well enough (even with my AirPods on Li

I have always used Linux personally, only work made me use Windows and Mac (controlled endpoints) for the past 20 years. For 4 years I have my own company, 100% Linux. I know that some things are not as nice on Linux (ie you need to do MS36

I have deep respect for Pandas, it, and Jupyter-lab were my intro to programming. And it worked much better for me, I did some "intro to Python" courses, but it was all about strs and ints. And yes, you can add strs together! Wow

Boring books? Sure I grab the phone. I’m probably as addicted as anyone. Bobbiverse? I drop the phone and read all five parts during any spare minute I have. So there’s that anacdote.

This makes the tech companies the decision makers over what is suitable content for children. But this has many problems. A big example is that some people are more open about sex than others. I'm reminded of a scene in an anime of a f

I know the feeling. I still wonder though, am I faster? Do I understand what I’ve made as well as I used to? What have I learned? How did the experience benefit me? What value did I gain? Idk. Hoping there will be research soon.

I also really enjoyed After Life (with Ricky Gervais). I wouldn't call him a hero, but then again maybe I would. So honest, so pissed off, so intelligent. Sick Note with Rupert Grint, same thing. Brilliant. I'm currently reading t
