I feel infuriated by this statement. Did he just not care? The company was burning around him, turning it around should have been his number 1 priority.

Love the idea! It always made me nervous when I was given access to other teams tools with the ability to inadvertently break them. It sounds like for now you could still end up with out-of-band changes because you can’t force folks to use

One thing the author seemingly didn't address - the overlap in entropy between the different mistakes. For example, Mistake 2 in timing leaked 6 bits, but those same 6 bits got leaked as a part of Mistake 4 in using confidential police

I believe this is where a lot of the confusion comes from. If you use Coinbase to directly trade crypto (e.g. BTC for ETH) this is a taxable event on your BTC even though you never touch fiat in the process.

There were stories of other mispriced deals that folks got where the order was cancelled. So I imagine it’s simply a matter of what Amazon caught in time vs not.

I actually don’t think it’s clear at all that IG influencers make money at all. I imagine that it’s similar to Twitch or Youtube - you have a very small 0.1% minority at the top making most of the income and everyone else scrapes by.

It’s on a per-account basis because Amazon is leaning heavily into multi-account setups for organizations. The release of AWS Control Tower strongly indicates that multi account is the future of AWS. Service Quotas is simply another end tow

Call of Duty is like Coca Cola or McDonald’s. When you buy it you know exactly what you’re gonna get. It’s the shooter version of a FIFA game. EA isn’t promising a drastically new game every time.

The hospitalist is acting as the “gatekeeper” to admission here, so they decide if the hospital will take the patient or not. That doesn’t stop the NP from shipping the patient straight to the hospital’s ER. By federal law, emergency rooms

Direct admits are falling out of favor, this case is likely to propagate that trend. The NP absolutely should have sent the patient to the ER. That fact doesn’t absolve the hospitalist but it’s worth noting.

No, I wouldn’t. Because I’d guess that etrade’s average account size is likely 25-50x that of Robinhood. I don’t think encouraging young adults to gamble beer money on the stock market is a long term viable business model.
