Typo: should be DocBook. O'Reilly (used to?) use DocBook and now seems to prefer AsciiDoc (Atlas). Some info about it (and other useful style info for writing ebooks) is here: http://oreillymedia.github.io/production-re

I think the article the original link points to "The Psychological Side of Heat Exhaustion" is pretty interesting, too, though.

This, 1,000 times this. I have gotten access to other folks' accounts who think they're using their email address, but they're actually using my email address. Car loans, job applications, doctor appointments, etc.

I would personally get both: you want the .ai, because that's your niche, and add on the .io given that it isn't very expensive at $32.88/year.

I like HexoNet ( https://www.hexonet.net/ ) and NameCheap ( https://www.namecheap.com/ ) and pick the one that has the lower price for the TLD that I'm interested in. In this case, HexoNet has .ai for $80&

This is going backwards. I already get a lot of mail that I never signed up for (because I have a common username), and this will only make it worse. Sorry for all the businesses where double opt-in reduces your subscription rate, but you&#

If it's a "few thousand dollar gap", but you're much more interested in the role, that seems like the best choice? Better to be happy in a role than get paid a few hundred more a month and be less happy. I've found

I've learned that (like many projects) it's easy to get sidetracked on: * What's the best microphone to use? (There goes at least 20 hours of research and reading and listening to comparisons, etc.) * What should I use to rec

I'm a bit surprised that EJB is still something folks would consider (and I've been using Java for 20 years), but the answer is simple: no. Smaller, more modern frameworks are the way to go.

As an educator, your lack of empathy for your (potential) students would greatly concern me regarding your ability to teach people from where they are, instead of what's easy for you. But that's fine, I'd be happy to teach fo

At most companies of the G or A size, it all depends on the team and manager, as they'll define the day-to-day culture and work. Note that Apple is much, much more siloed due to its secretive culture, and if talking about and open-sour

How easy is it to create a video-based course on there? I looked at it before, but it seems like you can just "upload videos", but I don't see anything about student progress tracking, discussion forums, etc.
