In our town, it is the local Chili's that is full of loud kids. It is quite relaxing to take your own kids someplace where you don't have to worry too much about their behavior b/c nobody will really notice.

Another consideration is to go virtual. I setup a virtual machine for my Linux development and run it in fullscreen. I don't have to worry about driver support and it is portable so I can clone/migrate it to another machine. Sn
