FWIW, it seems like this will not give you private repos under your own Github Account, but just a private repo under the Github "organization" for the Ada Initiative.

Two factor authentication is a funny thing in 2013. All computer users understand passwords (and the basics of password complexity/secrecy) at this point. That covers the "something you know" factor. Many users conceptually understand a "s

Sorry to hear it didn't work out. I might just share two thoughts that occurred to me: 1. The site's tagline is "Sell your $h!t with Social Sales!" which I would think is kind of off-putting in the context of a vendor relationship 2. Your

Yes, and that's why I continue to happily read Hacker News. You missed my point that I believe it's excessive to have a "news story" every time Bitcoin fluctuates. I would love to know how many Y Combinator or other startup companies are

Can someone tell me how to put a filter on my Hacker News account to remove the multiple-times-a-day articles about Bitcoin? Bitcoin is the opposite of a useful thing for my business, where I need actual revenue in dollars so I can turn ar

IMHO, Mongo listening on 0.0.0.0 (i.e. all interfaces) is a reasonable default. Most production deployments are going to run Mongo on a separate box from the app server, particularly if a replica set is used. This normally does not lead t

If you have another Mac with an optical drive, you can very easily share the drive over your network: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5287 . Or, rip it to an ISO on another machine and put the ISO (or just its files) on a thumbdrive.

It's possible Nvidia manufactures the higher-end cards and then, if they fail the high-end testing but pass low-end testing, are marked as the lower-end card. There is precedent for this in many areas of computer hardware (CPU, RAM, hard d

Are people getting so many 2-word "thank you" emails a day to show this article has a valid point? Don't get me wrong, sending merely "thank you" as a reply-all to a 200-person recipient list is one of the biggest email sins. But as a uni

I believe parody is considered protected speech. Everything on that site is so absurd (the zany video, the lists of email addresses) that I find it hard to believe a reasonable person would consider this a serious offer to DDoS somebody.

This is almost certainly a prank or a parody. DNS for ddossite.com points to IP 199.83.134.131. "whois 199.83.134.131" shows the IP is inside an IP block owned by "Incapsula Inc". Googling the company name yields http://www.incapsula.co
