Keyboard and chassis isn't waterproof on Macbooks, thus, the common argument for glued in batteries on other Apple devices (iPhone) in that it aides with waterproofing is rendered moot when it comes to Macbooks.

This tends to also apply to whitebox models. I have a no name ODM laptop which has options in the Bios to indicate the system is booting as a Windows, Linux or Android device. Oddly, enabling Android got the touchpad working in Ubuntu.
