Just to update, after a couple of hours playing with it, I am finally noticing it fluxuates up and down. It appears to let go of consumed memory after a period of inactivity. That's great news!

That’s really not the case any more. So far in my testing and browsing, it is.

Maybe you're right about lowest memory consumption, but what keeps me going back to Chrome is consistency in good performance and the fact that I can easily shut down one tab without having to restart the whole browser to reduce memory if t

Good point and I will continue to monitor the browser as I use it. Just in initial browsing, I'm still finding the memory consumption increasing at the same alarming rate it was before sadly. :( But you are correct that I need to give it s

I applaud the Mozilla team for its huge effort in squashing the FF memory leaks. That must have been such a huge pain to solve and it took many years. Well done and congrats. That said, I really hope the authors of plugins like Firebug, Adb

The top three reasons I switched to Chrome: 1. Memory bloat on Firefox. It's ridiculous that I have to restart the browser every day or more often just to get back more memory. 2. Plugin breakage. I'm sure it's better now but too little too

What many critics don't really understand about Coda is that it's not necessarily trying to compete with the Textmates, Sublime Texts or Vims out there. As I've used it for years, I believe this tool is built with front-end developers in mi

At least with one or two clients of mine, I have tried for months to try and change their workflow to allow local development but they resist. Because they give me limited access to the production files, I can't export the database to bring

IE9 is light years ahead of anything else Microsoft has put out and IE10 will be amazing in comparison as well. That said, a large percentage of IE9 users are corporations which don't want to support non-Microsoft browsers, new end-users wh

Sadly, Flash still is how you play video on the web and make a lot of rich, interactive presentations on websites b/c only in the last few years has HTML5 started taking off. We're stuck in a proprietary world until we get over the bickerin

I'm glad to read this and hope that HTML5 and open standards becomes a huge priority for Adobe and not an after-thought. I see decent intentions with products like Muse but its faults outweigh its benefits and I do not expect this particula

I am paying attention, trust me, but I am a little dubious, too, considering Adobe's past. If Adobe tries to throw money at bringing down HTML5, I surely hope this is not the beginning of that. May Typekit continue to thrive and improve wit

"Why would they close the doors?" Very good question, but one that needs a responsible answer. Adobe wants the web to live on using its proprietary formats like Flash while a growing minority is resisting this and switching to HTML5. Adobe'

Does Adobe have a strategy to fight HTML5 or make good progress with open standards b/c of the Typekit purchase? We don't want Adobe to shut down Typekit by any means b/c of how awesome it is and I'm afraid Adobe is resistant to HTML5 as an
