I googled for stats on tampons vs. pads and according to a paper some 3/4 of all women prefer tampons anyway, so I'm not sure they actually need a replacement for pads? I'm amazed that almost everybody using the word "gr

> When we name our company you won't mind if we put my name first then. That's an old problem really. Somebody has to go first. Home team over away team, alphabetical order, etc. I think we've solved that problem. Of cours

LTR doesn't imply ranking because we read from left to right (IMHO). Google for ranking and try to find an example that doesn't use top down (Google itself is a good example). FYI, the highest score in a football match is 149:0 (h

It's pretty much the same example I used here a couple of days ago: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7976227 Game development seems to be the poster child for composition over inheritance. Here's a lengthy art

Let me start by saying that I really like the clean look. I'm a fan of flat design. From a design point of view (visually encoding information that is) the layout doesn't make a lot of sense though. Putting one team above the othe

Given that you used to run one there really isn't much you cant do now. Austria has lots of organizations that got your back. If you ever end up in trouble and don't know who to ask for help just mail the Tor Project directly they

That one was disappointing for sure. I guess you can't win them all. The government not listening to them all the time doesn't mean they didn't do a great job though. Last time I voted I didn't see any fancy touch screen

Unfortunately this hasn't been the first case like that and it probably won't be the last one either. Saying they destroy peoples lives on purpose isn't fair though. Everybody setting up an exit node knows there's some c

You can't expect them to keep up with everything. Important is who they turn to for guidance. The CCC does a great job advising law makers and law enforcement in Germany and the EFF tries really hard to play a similar role in the US. T

For sure. At least in theory. That's always been true though. I don't think Austrian ISPs worry about it to much because precedents don't influence court decisions as much as they do in the US.

I think it's fair to say that 'everything is an object' was always a bad idea. I'm a little surprised that it took Ruby devs that long to realise that (Java devs still seem fine though). My favourite example is the '

Debugging as a user or developer? It literally takes a single click to disable a specific tracker for a specific site or to disable tracking globally to see if Ghostery broke something.
