I must correct a minor error: "[Unity3D's] web browser target depends on a clunky plugin with a low install base." This is no longer true. Unity3D can now (or very soon?) export to pure javascript and run in any WebGL-conform

MediaCrush is a great name, IMO. But mediacru.sh is gross. For the record, I disagree with the BETA tag and the "bandwidth saved" thing. The real issue is that it's easier to upload to gfycat.

I've been rooting for MediaCrush from the beginning, but there are two things I prefer about gfycat: 1) Their scrubber handle is REALLY slick and easy to use. 2) I never have to worry that gfycat will make noise if I blindly open a lin

My blog[0] is still plain HTML, but that's part of the reason I haven't made an update since late 2012(!). Thinking about switching to a blogging platform myself. Or at least something that converts markdown to static HTML with gi

My issue with Google Now is more about how rough it still is around the edges. I have a Nexus 5. me: "Okay, Google... text [my wife]" Goog: "Mobile or home fax?" 1) Why would you even ask that? 2) There is NO WAY to tell

I'm not talking about a change in a single day. The change in question happened in late December, so I do have SOME data. If I lose sales for two years and then EVENTUALLY get a bump, that's two years of network effects and word-o

This may not be what you're asking, but my wife and I have found that San Francisco Bay's single serve coffees[1] are quite good (better than most K-cups) and are cheaper since they don't use Keurig's design. A win-win f

I think it's because cruelty-free is already quite easy to get: just buy food from local, organic farms that actually raise animals instead of mass-producing them.

I think that is accurate. I only meant to use beef as an example of how our food supply has changed, not to suggest that beef is any sort of good source for omega 3s.

It's harder than that. Our food supply has changed; sixty years ago when cows ate grasses, beef naturally had some omega-3s in it. Now that their diet is largely corn, beef brings virtually all omega-6s. Ditto for "shelf-stable&qu
