They're not macbooks though. We bought a ROG Zepherus for someone doing 3d stuff at the place I work, it's fine, has a GTX 1080, but it's no mac book. And you can't run OSX. I'm a (relatively) happy member of the cu

Still about £3000 once you add a 1TB SSD, and not as polished. Plus you have to run windows and can't run Logic.

Apple will now sell me a laptop with: 6 core i9, 32 gig of RAM and 1TB. As a bedroom producer this is truly incredible - and, yes, incredibly priced. The sheer capability of this machine is awe-inspiring, then you remember that it's su

People with Kube experience, at what point should someone on Heroku consider switching to Kube with something like GKE? I have a rough idea of the pros and cons, particularly cost vs. time overhead, but curious about more subtle things.

Wut. The problem isn't twitter (well, not in this case, not that twitter haven't destroyed their product with the non-chronological feed...), it's infants who can't control themselves on it. Addicts and occasional users

Oh Calrec <3. I used to do work as an audio engineer and assisted on a lot of orchestral recordings in concert halls. Among many others, we often used a calrec stereo mic and was just such a great sounding mic.

There's a great line from the book Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie where the narrator of the book remarks that (and I'm paraphrasing here), there's loads of ways in the world to be poor, but apparently there's onl

Highly recommend Goodbye to All That, his memoirs. One of the best books written on the first world war from the perspectives of someone actually fighting it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good-Bye_to_All_That

Best I've seen is virgin atlantic. When I flew to vegas from London with them it was $45 USD per flight to get an economy seat with a bit more room. There was about 8 or 9 rows of these slightly roomier seats and it was great. Wish mor
