This is the comment I was looking for. I agree, most useless key in the whole bunch and you can't change it... Then again, sometimes it does take special software to support caps lock remapping.

I really love this stuff, this is a little more out there. (interstellar travel and all...) But I really believe that Nuclear power will be required to continue to explore our Solar System. Nuclear Thermal Rockets like Nerva[1] just seem li

I use .dev of course! I realize that .test is the sensible choice, but there's some odd WordPress/Serialization benefit to keeping the TLD length the same. Google bought it up, and I've never seen it in the wild, so it works

I just don't trust it when it comes to transuranic elements, I think that's what I was trying to say here. Everyone talks about the 'island of stability' but I just can't find the evidence. Meanwhile there's Am

Perhaps its the government? Lots of people think all these NSA programs are evil surveillance, could be it's just the glue that has saved us from just this. I'm personally amazed that people don't get hacked more often TBH...

I really like this comment. I think you're saying that moving data is easy, while computing the data hasn't kept up? Then again, I could be reading into this too much, and the computing part has always been a bottleneck at backbon

Insurance only works when you can get good coverage (lots of premiums being paid). Akamai and CloudFlare are DDoS insurance, and BK just got dropped. You don't see insurance companies rushing in after a disaster, this is no different

I really love the Isotope Table. I seem to remember having a chemistry teacher that mentioned something about the table being wonky or secretive. Total hearsay. I like the periodic table because I could verify it. Isotopes? Not so much...

Yes and no. Temporal as it relates to time. Time that me, you and everyone that will ever know of us could possibly hope to escape? Nope. Deep time? Yes. Temporary? Depends.

Yes Yes Yes! There's the distinction of "Natural Elements" and I've always suspected that it was a somewhat temporal distinction. While I believe that the Periodic Table is a Universal Truth, "Natural" vs "

That is a great term. I believe it can also be extended to devices like modern computers. They are now complex enough that no single person can understand all the parts of the system. Now I have a word for it, thanks!

I think you are correct, but I think humans are not as sensitive to distance measurements. If you sprint, and have a 100 yard and 100 meter dash time... Well certainly! If you want to say we just walked 100m to the car, not so much.

Yes! What is a meter? One Yard! 1km = 10 football fields (no end-zones) I find that meters are better for thinking about walking measures, why does our system even have a yard? Think in units, metric is good. I learned this in American Publ

Amazon was never a profit machine. I do think that's part of the core business, re-invest everything and more... and they turned into a giant comparable to Walmart.
