I founder one company at 23, and a second one at 39, both exited, the first after 7 years, the 2nd (stupidly too early) after 2. I think experience does help. You have less energy but much better judgement.

As someone dabbling with the topic, I would love to chat with someone that made the step to run your own firm. Are there any good groups to meet others? Would you be up for a Videochat coffee?

As someone who has lost his mother unexpectedly last year, and my father suffered from a brain hemorrhage leading to dementia ... and I can very much empathize with the instinct to stop working and take a long break.

Robo advisors don't model interest rates at all. They essentially just estimate volatility of asset classes and do a round of Markowitz Portfolio optimization; they are easy to build (it takes a few days only). There is very little sma

I don't think that they have a different take than the central banks, but the central banks don't advertise openly how interest rate hikes "tame inflation". In the end, you cannot have any durable inflation without wage

FWIW, the prodfiler.com agent does the same, and we have experimentally working ARM unwinding, including high-level language stuff (Python, Java) mixed with native, on ARM, too.

FWIW, the prodfiler.com agent has had no-symbol stack unwinding since summer 2021, and a minimum kernel version of 4.15 :-), and happens to have a lower footprint than the solution discussed here.

So if one was financially independent and wished to write something open-source in that field, where would the highest impact be?

It was broken incentives. Give people a financial incentive to do something that can look like an honest mistake in retrospect, and they will make a lot of "honest mistakes".

Something that the interview unfortunately does not address: in their contract-then-hire setup, how did they deal with engineers (that usually have crazy broad IP assignment Agreements on their day jobs)?

Not sure if it'd be worth it, but it's reasonably clean C++ code, which is not terribly difficult to maintain & integrate.

1) You could try to lift BinDiff to operate on the semantics more, but I am not entirely sure that it'd affect diffing quality. "Semantics" are a difficult thing to define at the assembly level: If your compiler optimizes les

Original author of the BinDiff tool (ca. 2004) here. BinDiff uses a good number of different algorithms to narrow the set of candidates for CFG-based matching -- so things like identical string references may be used to match a large functi

It's a good idea to read up on the history of the efficient market hypothesis, and how Fama came to it. There's also different tiers with different layers of credibility. Base tier (and the one pretty much everybody can agree on):
