If Israel commits genocide, and US actively supports Israel with weapons, do they imply US is at least supporting genocide in 21 century?

So the attacker has known in advance that the secret was stored in google photos? Is it a common way to store passwords, or is some piece missing here?

Would be nice if any of future "C is the root of all evil" articles would refer to this ticket as an example.

I've skimmed through it and it is quite disgusting. It is written in a manner to convince future kladman that "everything gonna be alright if you do it right". In fact, kladmen are disposable, are easy targets for cops, and g

Yet another rant like "stop doing what you do" but not actually suggesting how to test "actually required skills" in practice.

I assume there must be a competing report demonstrating significant measurable outcome benefits (for children) of EdTech? It cannot be that so much govt money is spent without rigorous checks / very solid justification.

> Some developers fear fungability, they think that that one system only they know is job security And this is pragmatical for an employee who's primary goal is not optimizing Amazon's income.

I doubt anyone who have ever seen complex test fixtures testing complex cases would agree it is better than free-form explanation of intended behaviour. Human language is just much more dense in terms of amount of conveyed information.

I believe some people understimate how much huge number of companies dont care about OSS licenses and do what they want internally. Winamp was simply unfortunate to unveil it.

I find the whole idea of money-driven game environment to be so repulsive. It's like ultimate goal of earning money is put above having fun. Not something it'd love my kids to experience.

Is there actually some "professional consensus" on password reset policies (in form of report or journal article or something similar)? If someone could share, I'd love to refer to it in my org to stop resetting passwords eve

Well, defining seconds via "caesium frequency" is perhaps more brutal.

The main benefit of TV was (and sometimes is, e.g. bbc if we ignore news) editioralized picking of programs. There was someone deciding if a video is worth watching (and in many cases acting in good faith). Very useful in modern Youtube wor

Regarding "Catholic meter": its definition depends on time measurement. How did they ensure that "seconds" of different clocks were equal?

Just to add one more voice to the choir of outraged DB customers: in Russia, for a long-distance train to get cancelled, it takes something like a new World War to begin, I don't remember a single case. And as you may imagine, Russian

Some examples seem hard to play with, unfortunately. For instance, "Detecting button presses" assumes one is able to build modules for RPi, which probably is not trivial by itself (e.g., requires cross-compilation).

I think that people outside EU who believe it does not need big tech may be unaware that average salary in EU IT is around 80k, and actually a lot of people (not only IT, but also doctors, for instance) relocate to US/UK/Swiss hop

Exactly, living in Europe, I've literally encountered the sheet+blanket combination for the first time a week ago, in a hotel. Duvets with covers ARE the norm.

I wonder what would be the cost of maintaining some huge auto-generated corpus of tests in the future. They need to provide some automated way not only to generate cases, but also to update them.
