Am I crazy or doesn't this (temporary credit card numbers) already exist with a lot of major credit card vendors? I remember getting an Amex Blue card back in the early 2000's because it could do just that thing...

And what about the backend? Last I heard it's all stored as files on a handful of machines, so it's not like it's some off the shelf database you can just keep throwing machines at to scale. Also it's written in lisp o

Doom's WAD format is very well documented but still a fun binary format to write a parser to read. I remember writing a parser for it in QBASIC when I was a teen!

Good lord, I hope the $50M investors in reddit are beating down the doors to get a PR person at the company so the CEO stops making crazy moves like this. There's no way a good developer would want to go work for Reddit when the CEO s

So now put a job hunt on top of trying to create a startup idea and keep a roof over your head? Doesn't seem very practical unfortunately.

Or maybe a way of clawing back shares of the company now that new money is coming in? Not sure what kind of deal early Redditors got, but getting them to quit in frustration with a move and give up whatever options/ownership/etc.

My conspiracy theory, it's all a move to make Reddit attractive as a major Yahoo acquisition. Yahoo is getting an injection of billions from Alibaba and has been on a tear with acquisitions. Moving everyone to SV makes for an easier

I think with the shiny new purse of $50M reddit needs to hire an amazing PR person. Releasing this news now seems like it will kill all the good will from yesterday's announcements. Also have been a lot of weird media moments in the

3 months severance is also a bit short. In the recent Microsoft layoffs I've heard of folks getting 6+ months depending on how long they've worked there. It's certainly better than nothing but I'm not sure I'd say

There have been at least 3 different articles I've seen about Windows 10 on the homepage today. One about the announcement, one from the BBC, and this one from Wired. I think that's enough coverage, personally.

Like I said the Yun does not and I would bet never will run Windows. If you can get Windows 10 to run on a 400mhz MIPS processor with 64mb of memory and 16mb of storage I would be genuinely impressed. I pointed it out because it's fu
