The only change I would make to the "stages" is to add caching up front. Most modern web frameworks make the use of caching pretty trivial therefor making it less of a pain than setting up load balancers and multiple web servers, etc. Stati

Gist, like GitHub, is quite useful. Unfortunately, I've gotten into the habit of just typing in a random paste site I happen to know anytime I need the service. He forgot LodgeIt! (paste.pocoo.org) -- it even has vim and emacs integration ;

As cool and useful as Pinax is, calling it "well documented" isn't entirely accurate considering the fact that there is barely any documentation to speak of.

Iteration can work for policy, too. Regardless, I think the take-away here is that people shouldn't write articles like this based off of vague intentions. What someone wants to do, what they think is a good idea now and what actually

It seems to me this is more about an effort to expand existing volunteer programs and add new ones while encouraging and rewarding people for community service than it is about slavery . Then again, I'M NOT FUCKING INSANE. Flagged.

"Obama and Biden will establish a new American Opportunity Tax Credit that is worth $4,000 a year in exchange for 100 hours of public service a year." Apparently, if you refuse, you don't get a tax break.

I think banning laptops in class is a good idea. When I had my laptop in class I basically screwed around and looked up at the board occasionally to see if the professor had written anything on it. Turns out that's a pretty worthless way to

I take another approach: Never, ever look at my parents' computer. Last time I did I nearly puked on the monitor. I think they're still rockin' the Bonzai Buddy.

Hardly git exclusively; most any modern version control works well for this. Git's local branching/checkout makes it a slightly faster process though, I suppose.
