I decided a while back the real way to fix this problem was to not use eggs because they are complete rubbish. I have never had a deployment where eggs didn't cause some sort of issue, until I stopped using them entirely.

I think this is the first thing I've flagged due to "excessive age". I remember reading this when it was originally posted.

There's a very simple fix for this that has been proven to work: charge for admission and moderate incredibly heavily. Charging some small sum, say $10, weeds out lots of younger people (no credit card). Moderating heavily deters people fro

sigh I remember lobbying for this change along with many others when we did it in the first place. Then I was completely shocked when Microsoft actually listened. Now I am completely unsurprised and depressed by their latest flip-flop (MS

It's sort of depressing. A year of struggle and ultimate perseverance against the odds... to release something that doesn't make any money. I mean, kudos for sticking with it and refusing to give up, but... now what?

Other than being unable to get the html snippets to work, I like it and will be trying it as a SnippetsEMU replacement (if I can get html files working).

You might be surprised and/or horrified by the number of "hackers" who know nothing of things like Usenet, IRC, mutt, etc. I think it really hit me when someone posed the serious question, "What's IRC?" He was older than me. Don't get me st

You're also adding a ridiculous amount of markup, it's less semantic (you have a table in your button!), and requires use of an image which requires yet another http request. If you look at the "just barely enough to be renderable" mark-up

The other side of the coin is that they've maintained arguably the best General BBS for years and their members work en-mass to do some really insanely good (and bad!) stuff. SA basically has the best of the best in whatever the members cho

I've admitted on a few occasions that I've never written a unit test for anything. This is something I keep meaning to change, if only I could find the time. For the time being, I can still keep the code dependencies and side-effects in my

They are when you use a good CC company. I've had AMEX charge-back numerous deadbeat merchants and automated payment BS. They even got me $1,500 back from Paypal, which is basically a black hole for your money.

I've found the same thing; numerous factors go into muscle gain. For me, I no longer eat as much or as balanced as I did when I was training seriously, which means I don't make the gains I used to. I also lack a partner which means no spott

I got my membership here in September of last year and didn't start going daily until January 1st (I made it a resolution). In my experience, I either go 6 days a week or I go 0. It takes a ton of reinforcement for me to make the habit.

Even if I concede that it's a damn fine start, it is not research sufficient to jump to the conclusion that (a) CSS layouts are overcompensating (based on a "hypothesis" taken out of thin air) and (b) people who believe using tables for lay
