Well, I wouldn't say I'm quite "there" yet either, but I understand it enough to realize that you can't find something you already have (e.g., a "path"). Empirical thought still assists me too, but the point is he's looking at meditation an

Merely by presenting his arguments in the way he has, he shows that he doesn't actually get the point of meditation (or at least the Eastern philosophies which generally practice it). If he did, he'd realize that all those people were miser

You know, it has yet to occur to me that I might not be able to do whatever I want. I'm not even sure what that would feel like.

(a) I think you mean "fewer and fewer examples"; saying "less and less" makes you sound like an idiot. (b) The latter part of (a) may only apply when read by educated people, but since they're the people that make all the decisions, you sho

I've found there are generally four stages to my own designs: 1. This is shit 2. Okay, I'm getting somewhere 3. This is pretty good! 4. This is shit I don't know why, but if I look at a design for too long I end up hating it, e

You must be talking to the wrong startups, then. We've never claimed to be making the next Google. I didn't get laid much in high school, but I quickly made up for lost time afterwards. I already am someone in this world by virtue of existi

You're only disappointed because you're looking at the future from a perspective of the present. People from the future won't understand why you think you're missing what they have. If you're disappointed by the generation in which you live

DB dumps exist for a reason Indeed they do, and that is the "faultless" way of creating a backup. Depending on your RDMS (and luck perhaps), the backups can be fine or they can be unusable. In my experience, MySQL databases backed up this
