Its been this way for a long time, but macOS apps through the app store essentially ship in a sandbox with the ability to configure permissions. And there are now solutions that are very similar or the same on Linux (flatpak, appimage, snap

From experience doing mobile development at work, natively for both Android and iOS, Apple does test and run your app to make sure it works and that it does what it promises to do. I can see it because we issue both Google and Apple account

Yup and in 30 years from now, people will be saying the same for the last 30 years. For every Ocarina of Time there was hundreds of no names based on movie gimmick games that are forgotten about. For every Super Mario there was a hundred ET

Raising kids is expensive and tens of thousands doesn't cover any significant portion. However, it's not just money alone that is the problem. Money helps a lot, but like any complicated problem, it's got multiple front. Mone

Exactly what I was thinking. It's not that snake oil sales people sold totally useless stuff, its just that the stuff they sold did not deliver the value that was promised. Another example that is still going on today. There is a commu

I built an iOS app so I could have a widget to keep track of the San Diego Padre's season record and the division leaderboard. Crazy the official MLB app doesn't offer something. So I made my own. https://www.dugoutmetr

To add on. If I remember correctly, its been awhile keeping track of it, they recommend you do because macOS is how you will get firmware updates as there are not any or many mechanisms to update firmware on Apple Silicon devices from Linux

I think that is a little bit unfair. I think plenty of developers, myself included wouldn't mind or would like to do native applications. Every time someone does those, a mountain of people ask "why" and "this shoulda&#x

And none of that means it isn't non-deterministic. Compilers still satisfy the, given the exact same environment and input, you get the same output. It doesn't matter the number of inputs. So long as f(3, 2) always gives 5, it

I really hate the trying to make LLM coding sound like it's just moving up the stack and is no different from a compiler. A compiler is deterministic and has a set of rules that can be understood. I can look at the output and see patte

There are some good stuff on the software side that people mention, but a big one is the driver support. We would need device makers to upstream support so there is less worrying about reverse engineering or needing to run modified ROMs bas
