Do you want to release it to the general public or just a circle of friends and family? TestFlight lets you have up to a hundred users forever without ever truly releasing. I have a couple of home-relevant apps I am managing that way.

May I introduce you to the Free State Project. Also, I don’t think the Sentinelese intended to found a society, given they most likely lack the concept for the concept for that.

Didn't we have a story just yesterday that Anthropic's run-rate now looks like $49 billion/ year and they might have their first quarterly profit? I would suggest if you have billions of dollars coming in the door and aren&

Same. The one that cemented it for me is The Matrix is only a quarter-century old, yet some people watched it and thought, "Oooh, good idea!" You can't even complain the context was gone.

Yes, but I was kinda hoping Hannah Arendt’s lessons had been internalized and we would progress. More the fool I.

It’s been a long time since I used it but it’s one of those pieces of open source that was so vital to my career when contracting I treated it like I had an annual subscription to pay each year.

Same. Growing up Gen X, I always thought robots being used for evil would be cool dystopian dictatorships that would try to grind me under its boot but I would resist. Instead it’s just twerps who are so terminally online they can’t fathom

The middle one is fascinating. The first track I ever scrobbled is by an artist I have yet to listen to again in 22 years. Much of the longest gaps is taken up by bands I found or started to like due to Rock Band which came out around that

I think you are confused. I self-host a ton of stuff. One thing I have zero interest in is hosting mail and dealing with all of the configuration and possible timebombs waiting before I can even do the single thing I want the service to do.
