My opinion: XMPP is too little like Matrix (e.g. decentralized rooms, people as verification targets, messages (incl. e2ee ones) easily synced to all sessions) while Matrix is in a sub optimal state due to the Element/Element X client

I haven't linked a runtime but the specific feature, which alleviates manual handling of multiple futures when awaiting multiple futures concurrently, expressed in the language named Rust.

But to be able to actually use just "?" you need a specific library as well. So according to your wording you go out of your way to to be able to just use "?".

Iirc I had a situation a while back, in which I used async await with tokio with a non Send or Sync type and it compiled when I didn't use spawn[1] (implying multithreading) but a simple loop with sequential processing. Only when I wan

Sprinkling "?" everywhere and the properties you mentioned are not really a different approach by the language but by the (some) users. I am not even sure if Rust is that more convenient in this regard generally. To actually be ab

I "hate" GOs error handling because of repetitive and verbose boiler plate when it comes to error handling. Rust has almost the same error handling concept, but with way less boilerplate. And Rust actually syntactically forces to

The point of e2ee is already lost anyways. What does E2EE potentially give you? A promise, which does not involve trusting the service provider, that messages can only read by the recipient. What does making the app closed source take from
